Diego
I first heard Diego's voice months before meeting him in person. I'd overhear some of the Skype business calls he, Pam, and my husband had before he flew back home to Manila. He'd spent the last couple of years completing his master's degree at Simon Fraser University in Canada. Together with Birdie and Pam, Diego was now coming on board as one of Curiosity's co-founders.
When we finally met early in 2013, the first things I noticed about Diego were his sparkling, childlike eyes and a lovely smile. He had a gentle, cheerful disposition that was just so easy to warm up to. As the months progressed, I got to know a bit more of his character, his motivations, his dreams. Not only was he a tech expert--this creative man was an eloquent writer, a generous teacher, a talented dancer. An artist. And even greater, a sensitive, loyal friend.
I feel like I've only just begun to know you, Diego, so I can't help but feel a little sad that you're leaving--but, more excited for the incredible opportunity waiting for you in London! Thank you for the memories. I truly haven't met anyone brimming with as much heart and happiness. I wish you nothing but the best in your next great adventure. I am incredibly blessed to have met such a beautiful soul. We all can't wait to see you again soon!
